Northbound on I-15 (south-central Utah, a few miles out of Fillmore), I was a passenger enamored with the clearing cloud cover revealing a new mountain snowcap contrast with emerging spring below. Unexpectedly it all came together. With little other thought or consideration I proclaimed “take the next exit!” It seemed an eternity relocating to the spot from a frontage road, but there it was, lone cedar, reawakening foliage, purple mountain’s majesty amidst the last breaths of a season past.
